About CRi

Our story is simple: Since 2005, we’ve been helping Canadian universities and colleges uncover opportunities via actionable research.

We are small by design: the same team has handled all our 540+ projects to date.

There are three characteristics that make CRi a market leader in Canada for post-secondary research: reliability, quality and utility.

Our research reliability comes from its core of rigorous statistical analysis built on a carefully crafted project design: the survey instrument, definition of the target market, recruitment of respondents, end-to-end confidentiality and security in data collection, interpretation of the findings and a final report focused on practical concrete recommendations.

The fact that most of CRi’s hundreds of studies are the result of word-of-mouth referrals from colleagues at other institutions testifies to the quality of our work. We have completed projects for sample groups from a few hundred summer students to 65,000 full-time students. It is common for clients to return after a few years for follow-up studies.

But the most distinctive quality of our research is its utility, which flows directly from the collaborative nature of the process that guides development of the research project: together, client and CRi assess the needs and define how the results will be used, examine the means available, and make the decisions that will deliver “a tool that fits the hand.” Client satisfaction is our goal, a goal we have achieved hundreds and hundreds of times.
